Secret Crafter challenge *7* cute as a button

The challenge over at secret crafters this week is 'cute as a button' ...

you have to use a cute image, and use buttons on your card....


I think these Penny Black snowpeople are VERY cute... so thats the cute bit sorted...... but I've only used one button...is that allowed??

I liked the monochromatic look from the card in the previous post, so I used it again for this...

Ran the top half of the card through a cuttlebug embossing folder, and then used stickles around all the embossed bits...

Penny Black week *23* Monochromatic

This week over at the Penny Black Saturday Challenge the theme is monochromatic...
use black and white or different shades of one colour....
as I'm trying to get my christmas cards done .... I went with a christmas card, and chose BLUE

Sarah Kay weekly challenge..DOODLES..FAB!

My final post for tonight... just praying the powers that be let me stay online long enough to publish it....

Here is my entry for this weeks sarah kay challenge which this week is DOODLES... I couldn't wait to have a go at this... I LOVE doodling!!

Here's my take....

I LOVE doodling SO much i think i may have got a little carried away...LOL

Tried something totally different with the colouring, i just shaded with a 2B pencil.. and then picked out areas to add pink to... I actually quite like it, think i might try this more....

Not much added...Lace and flowers from my stash... making memories brad...

and LOADS of doodling!!! sentiment is also handwritten...

I was hoping to stagger them throughout the day, but my internet access has been a bit naff today, so i'm just trying to get them all on before i get cut off AGAIN...

Spoon full of sugar challenge 20

OMG!!
I can't believe its been over a month since I last posted! If you are a reader of my shop blog, you'll know why.....
Anyway... no excuses I'm back now and intend to post much more often...
My first post is my entry for the spoon full of sugar challenge.. which this week is to use the Colours pink and green.... FAB, my Fav colour combo!!

Here's my take....

This is my first attempt at colouring with my new promarkers... i have to admit...I LOVE THEM!

I've created a little scene using 3 differerent tilda stamps, and layering them up, which i've never attempted before, but actually quite like, so i'll be doing it again... all the grass is hand drawn, and sentiment is hand written...

a few firsts on this card... so a bit of a risk... but overall i'm pleased with how its turned out!

Penny Black Saturday Challenge 12 Stars and Stripes

This weeks Penny Black Challenge is 'STARS AND STRIPES'
You'd think this would be quite simple wouldn't you?


Well ....I have loads of stripy papers, and loads of papers with stars on... but do you ever have one of those moods where NOTHING is right? I hadn't coloured or even chosen my stamp so there was no issue about what would match or anything like that, I just didnt like any of the papers that should have been perfect!


So I used my favourite DCWV pocket full of posies papers (it does have little stars on, if you look VERY carefully!!)


In the end, and after LOTS of changes, I came up with this....

I'm not sure I'm completely 'hoppy' with it, I tried to glitter the frogs jumpers, and made a bit of a mess!!

When I showed it to hubby, he said.... 'but theres no stars or stripes on it!'

MEN!! TUT

Actually they are quite subtle but they are there if you look!!

Penny Black Saturday Challenge 11 No Cards Allowed!

Well this weeks Penny Black Challenge was a toughie!! NO CARDS ALLOWED! I was going to be a coward and wait till next week in the hope that its back to cards again, but then hubby came home from the supermarket with 3 little plants, and three cute plant pots to put them in....

*PING* lightbulb moment!!

These are far too good to put dirt and green stuff in, so I've decided to decorate them, and use them as gift tins.....

So this is my entry for this weeks Penny Black Saturday Challenge what do you think?

Oh, and don't worry about the dirt and green stuff...I sent hubby back out to buy 10 more.....

Just need to make a card to match now...

Sarah Kay Challenge Sketch

Here is my entry for this weeks Sarah Kay Challenge which is a fabulous sketch!

I have to say, I've never coloured, or used a Sarah Kay stamp before now, and I enjoyed it SO much...The detail is fantastic and the images are just beautiful!! couldn't manage to get hubby excited about it, although I DID try.


I made this card for my sister, her birthday isn't until December, but unusually for me, I'm actually THAT far ahead!!

Image is water coloured, and I've added little glitter touches, although you can't see them on the photo...

Daring Card Makers Challenge 'This Way'

I made this card for my Hubby to let him know I was thinking of him, as he starts his new job today. I wanted to steer clear of the obvious 'New Job' card....

It works perfectly for the Daring Card Makers Challenge 'This Way' in which you have to make a card using arrows....

The stamp is from PENNY BLACK and is called 'crush' and I think its SO sweet, Trouble is i fell in love with it when i saw it, but didn't think about the fact that it does have limited uses! hmmmm.... looks like hubby will be receiving lots of cards!!! Anyway..... the papers are from DCWV and are from the 'pocket full of posies' range, the star button, and mesh flower are from making memories, tag attached with safety pin.... and you guessed it... the arrows are more doodling!!!

'Cold As Ice'

Here is a card I actually made for the Tilda and Co Challenge 'Cold As Ice' But I'm so disorganised, and I didnt get it posted in time.....grrrr!

Still I thought I'd add it anyway.... need to start filling the blog up!

This card is actually quite glittery, but as hard as I tried, I couldn't get it to show up on the photograph! and yes.... more doodling!!

Cute Card Thursday Challenge 24

Okay this is my very first card on this blog, for my very first challenge...ooohh bit nervous!

This is my entry for this weeks Cute Card Thursday Challenge

The Challenge this week is to use BRIGHT COLOURS ....

I wish I could remember where the papers were from, as I'd like more, but I have to cut the top strips off to make them fit in my drawers! The sentiment is printed, and I've drawn a little flower on it, attached to the ribbon with a mini safety pin (although you cant see it very well in the pic!) I've coloured the stamped image with watercolour pencils, and finished it all off with yellow and green flowers, and some doodling (I DO like doodling!)

Hi!!
I'm Paula, I'm 31 years old, and I come from Derbyshire.
I've been card making for a few years now... and I am hooked... I don't have a particular style...I just see where my creativity takes me on any given day.....
I love to doodle on my creations, to add a little bit of 'me' ....

I adore Sugar Nellie stamps, so you will see LOADS of them used on here.... also have a soft spot for penny black stamps.... but you will often see other things too.... (I promise!)

I own a little company called POLLYCRAFT where I sell my own range of digital images and clear stamps. I love what I do, but sometimes I do get fed up of seeing and using my own designs, and love to play about with other companies gorgeous stamps instead!! and I also love to enter challenges for fun, but I feel its unfair to enter using my own images, as its like free promotion really!!..... so this blog is my escape if you like....where I can enter challenges and blog candys to my hearts content!!
